Well it's been far too long since I last wrote anything, though I don't know that I have much interesting to say. I'll update y'all anyway. Work has really picked up... finally doing experiments again, as well as my managerial duties, which I'm enjoying. We now have a post-doc in the lab, and she is really sweet and a very hard worker - you have to be to complete a doctorate. I don't know how people do it, and I'm absolutely content to leave it up to them. Anyway, we get along great, so that is a blessing. I got to go to her Super Bowl/Engagement party, and that woman can cook!
My sister, Sommer, just had her baby shower last week-end, which I unfortunately didn't get to attend there in Missouri. I hired Sylwinn to make her a baby sling, which I hear turned out beautifully. I still can't believe my little sister is about to have a baby. She and her husband have a dog, Hemi, and a cat, Roman, and she said that the dog got into the gifts and came walking into the kitchen the other day with a binky in his mouth the right way! Sommer laughed so loud that the dog immediately dropped it and wouldn't pick it up again so she could get a picture. Maybe that will work out well for the kid, and Hemi won't slobber all over her binkys when she gets here. I'm going to be an aunt!
I've been doing some artwork here and there, though I've been in a slump lately. Several projects are in various phases of completion, but when I can't seem to work on them, I try to do some sort of basic prep work for future stuff. It makes me feel productive.
Well, it's late, and I must get some sleep, but you'll hear from me again...
